300-yd BENCHREST CHALLENGE

THIS EVENT CLOSES THE 300m, Cowboy Town and the 500yd

SUMMARY AND COURSE OF FIRE:

300 Yard Benchrest Challenge:  8 Minutes for sighting in, then 20 shots for score, with a time limit of 20 minutes.  Targets are 3” diameter bullseye.  Scoring is hit or miss, 10 points per shot for a maximum of 200 points.  Shot must touch the bullseye to be scored hit.

EQUIPMENT:

Eye and ear protection, rifle & ammo of any caliber except 50 BMG. Spotting scopes, bipods, mechanical front and rear rests and/or bags or blocks are allowed. Empty chamber indicator (ECI) required.  Kestrel type wind meters are allowed but only behind the firing line.  Wind flags are not allowed. Shooting benches, chairs, targets and target stands are provided.

WHEN:

Sunday, 2nd of each month, May through September.  Sight in begins at 8:00 a.m. after safety briefing then shooting to follow directly after change of targets.  Each relay will run in the same manner.  Normally the event concludes by 10:30 but may go as late as noon depending on participants.  Each relay will last about an hour.

COST:

$10, youngsters 17 and under shoot for free (all youngsters must be supervised by an adult) Top scores for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded a blue, red or white ribbon respectively.
